Very happy with my decision on the LG 26LG30 – excellent picture and great tuner! I have Comcast as my service provider and I don’t use a converter box and this TV’s tuner is able to display the HD broadcasts of the local TV stations right from the cable coming out of the wall! I used a Peerless Universal mount (not recommended for this particular model, but that’s a whole other story) and ran the wires up through the wall for a nice clean install in a master bedroom. Totally recommend this TV – great value for the price. I looked at everything in the 26″ category and by dropping down to a lesser priced product from another manufacturer, the difference in the picture quality was very clear – this one is WORTH paying a little more for without going for a higher end model. Best way to buy a TV is go look at them in the big box stores and then go buy on line – I ended up paying a lot less.

Based on my experience and satisfaction with my 42″ LG, I decided to stick with the brand, and purchased the 26″ (26LG30) purchased 1/09. Shortly after buying the 26″, the screen died on my 42″ and needed to be replaced (thankfully I bought support). Recently the 26″ screen died, and after 2 attempts by support to fix it – they opted to replace it with a comparable TV.

Other things noted on the 26″ model – poor sound quality, almost sounded like a blown speaker with lower tones. Angle of viewing was also not great – you needed to be almost directly in front of the screen for a clear picture.

Since they decided replace it with something “comparable” – I opted to go with a 26″ Samsung LN26B460 instead of another LG. Picture is clear from all angles, no issues with sound, and overall picture quality (blacks, colors, etc) is far superior to the LG.

Internal sound makes Katie Couric sound like a Klingon with a scratchy throat. More distortion than sound at any level. Does not really work on antenna. Can always use as a computer monitor I guess, or a doorstop.

Seeing that this is a relatively new product, with no prior reviews, and the first to offer wireless image technology, I was a bit hesitant at first. However, with the great specs and competitive price, I decided to go for this model. I couldn’t be happier.

I am not a tech wizard by any means, but I know quality when I see it. And this has it all. The image is superb!! Hi-Def cable & Blu-Ray discs look fantastic. Let me emphasize that there is absolutely NO image degradation whatsoever due to the wireless capability. I would suggest keeping the “media box” (which transmits the wireless audio/video to the screen) outside or on top of any cabinet, and placed as close as possible to the screen. Even though I originally placed my media box on the second shelf of my cabinet, with only a glass shelf above it, I still experienced a loss of signal strength, which was pretty much unnoticeable aside from a few flickers every now and then. I moved the box to the top of the cabinet, and I now have very good to excellent signal strength (LG recommends keeping the signal strength at very good to excellent (four to five bars).

This product seems too good to be true (again, for those not willing to hire an electrician to cut holes in the wall and rewire your electrical and components through your walls), but I couldn’t be happier.

In terms of appearance, it looks great, with a semi-tranparent plastic frame around the screen.

Item was shipped via Pilot, and they were courteous and professional, and even helped to open the package to ensure there was not damage (since one end of the box seemed a bit crushed).

I just set up this TV two days ago, so I will come back and make updates to this review as needed.

Got it at Costco for 0. and it has a beautiful picture. No complaints! Last two tv’s were LCD’s and were nowhere near the quality of this set. first lcd was a Samsung 32″ and the last one was a Vizio 37″.
I did have the 42″ version of this for a short time but needed more, 50 ” at 10 feet is perfect.

I’ll be a Plasma fanboy for the next 5 years!

I don’t have a Blu-ray player yet, but DVDs look fantastic through HDMI. I appreciated the array of appropriate options for aspect ratio and display. SD TV is rather ugly, but that’s to be expected. That said, there is a noise reduction feature which cleans up the SD signals very nicely. Hooked up the Wii through component cables at 480p–looks nice. I also love the fact that I can hook it up to my laptop and make use of every last 1080p pixel. There is an auto-adjustment feature in the picture menu that can align your VGA output to fit the TV if it comes up off-center at first. One gripe here is that the TV doesn’t seem to auto-detect my VGA connection like it does with HDMI, component, etc… you have to manually use the directional arrows to select VGA from the input menu. It works, even though it appears to be grayed out.

Overall, the menus are very logical and easy to use. I was especially happy (and surprised) by the simplicity of the remote control, and the directional keys have a nice feel to them. Switching between inputs is a breeze, and the ability to add labels to the inputs in the selection menu (appropriate pictorial representations included) is a great feature. I love that it detects which inputs have something plugged in and lists them first. It’s so easy the rest of my family can actually use it without having to call me to help ;)

Sound seems very good for a flat-panel. It has good clarity and surprisingly deep bass. The bass doesn’t cause the set to rattle at all, which is a plus. It’s nothing awe-inspiring, but it sounded better than most of the other brands at the store.

It’s also a beauty, design-wise. Assuming it continues to be reliable, I highly recommend it.

A great buy for a 1080p TV. This TV has tons of features to adjust the picture. The picture wizard didn’t do much for me, but the expert menus are great. Each input on the TV has its own picture settings, which is both a blessing and a curse. Blacks could be deeper (especially at angles), but can be enhanced significantly with the proper settings. Despite reviews that I’ve read, I think blacks are actually superior to most LCD TVs in its class when set correctly. No dead or stuck pixels. My only gripe is that there are some uniformity issues. There are some very faint vertical bars across the LCD where the image is slightly darker. These are only really visible out of the corner of your eye during scenes with moving backgrounds. They’re mostly visible with blue hues and when viewing from off-angles.

Best in Class for This Size and Price – B. V. Dam – California, USA
After tons of research I decided on this maker and model and I love this TV. I agree with other reviewers that the blacks are not as black as they could be but most LCD’s in this size category have the same issue. It has not diminished my satisfaction.

PROS
Excellent picture quality
Vivid colors without being over saturated
No noticeable blurring or pixelation
Blue Ray Movies in 1080 look incredible
SUPER simple setup. When you first turn it on, it automatically guides you thru the setup…(no manual needed here)
We have basic cable and the autoscan found over 40 channels I never knew we had (music and HD)
Excellent on screen menus that make adjusting picture, sleep mode, etc. easy (within days you can access without even looking at the remote)
Everything on it feels solid, no jiggly buttons or inferior feel, even the remote is well made
Excellent styling. This unit is just nice to look at. Smooth lines, clean and modern.

CONS
Ability to produce deep blacks as stated above
Nearly all TV’s regardless of what you spend have weak stock speakers so I rate sound as good but not great. Fine for TV, get external speakers for movies.

All in all this is high value: A great 32″ 1080P LCD for under 0. All other models in the sub-0/0 category come with sacrifices (some serious).
