One of the advices that many people like to toss around is to not watch TV since it’s bad for you. With all of the bad news that TV stations keep feeding us, watching too much TV will only make you depressed. On top of that, if you spend way too much time in front of the television, then your health will slowly deteriorate because you won’t be getting the much needed exercise. So what should you do? If TV is bad for you, should you cut it completely out of your life? Is even a little bit of the “bad stuff” okay? Let’s take a look.

First of all, TV isn’t bad for you. It’s merely a form of communication. TV station send signals through the air wave and your TV set picks it up and converts it into colored pixels which make up the pictures that you see. So in a broad sense, there’s really no harm. Of course, what people are talking about is what you choose to watch. Now if that’s the case, then if you choose to watch the right programs, then that would make TV okay wouldn’t it? There are dozens of education channels dedicated to expanding your knowledge base. So really, it just depends on what you choose to tune into.

However, just like with anything, too much of it can really do some damage both physically as well as psychologically. When you sit in front of a box watching mindless shows, your mind can literally get into a trance. Some people can go on watching for hours and forgetting to eat or even have the urge to use the restroom. This overtime will lead to problem, many of the health related. The more you sit and watch shows, the less exercise you get and the less fit you will be. This can translate into depreciating health conditions.

With that in mind, there are a lot of uses to watching TV. During big games, it’s a way to bond with friends and family. For many people, it’s a stress reliever from the every day grind. If you use it moderately, it can be a great way to relax and unwind. With that said, if you’re going to watch TV, make sure you limit yourself to only 1 or 2 hours a day max. There are a lot better things you can do with your life than to sit mindlessly in front of a colored box.

When it comes to LCD TVs, Samsung is currently in production may be the best and most popular LCD TV models on the market. Panasonic, however, is the government when it comes to plasma TVs. In short, if you buy an HDTV between LCD and plasma are torn to choose between Samsung and Panasonic models. Here is a brief guide to help you make your decision.

Viewing angle: two Samsung LCD and Panasonic Plasma TVsimilar angles. Viewing angle of plasma TV can be as large as 178 degrees, while LCD TVs are up to 175 degrees. Although both types of TVs have viewing angles, like, you can send images of plasma televisions of any deterioration in quality, even if viewed from angles odd. LCD, however, the best view of the front for better graphics.

Frequency: Traditionally, plasma TVs ultra-fast frame rates, similar to the price of CRT TVs. LCDOn the other hand, are much slower refresh rate, but recent technological advances have greatly improved the refresh rate for LCD TVs. Some high-end (and expensive) models of LCD TVs now have a refresh rate of 5 ms.

Burn In: Plasma TVs are not suitable for displaying static images. After prolonged use of video showing static, are susceptible to burn-in effects, where they had left the video permanently "residue" left on the screen, much like a permanent shadow the screen. The new models have now clearly this problem can be curbed. LCD, however, are vulnerable to a similar problem "retained pixel charge" called when a pixel (or groups of pixels) is discolored. Fortunately, this problem is detected.

Life: Most LCD models ranging from 30 060000 hour hours. To make plasma TVs at the same time of "Half Life" (which it does, more than half of its brightness) reach. Recently,> Panasonic has announced that its plasma TVs can be up to 100,000 hours.

Stability: Plasma TVs are generally heavier and thicker than LCD TVs. Due to its weight, the installation is best left to experts, especially if you plan to mount your plasma on the wall. Plasmas are also more likely to respond in a special way to be transported.

Image quality: It 'indisputable that plasma TVs produce sharper images and crisp. This isThis high contrast ratio, which is itself only the more expensive LCD model. The blacks are deep and brilliant images on a plasma TV. On the other hand, reflects the LCD screen is very light, leading to a better viewing experience in a well lit room.

A full HD TV conforms to the 1080p progressive format which produces the ultimate resolution for high def televisions. It is commonly written that the 1080p format is underutilized because of the lack if media that uses it and that the 1080p format is not beneficial to smaller screens and only benefits large screens. Both facts are not entirely true.

1080 ‘p’ and ‘i’ both have a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels / raster. This is another fact that turns another popular misconception on its head in that the progressive scanning method has a better resolution than interlaced, they are both the same. To further illustrate this point both have 1920 pixels across 1080 horizontal rows in total.

To truly understand the operational difference of the interlaced and progressive methods of scanning, their operation must be broken down relative to time.

With true or native 1080 interlaced televisions the images displayed are refreshed 60 times every second or at a rate of 60Hz. With 1080i, only every second row for each interval is sampled. This means that the updates of the lines even and odd lines of successive samples, one can deduce from this that two cycles are required to update all the rows.

The alternative method, the series uses the interlaced images can have a negative effect is called jitter, which, through the images that pass through the screen suffers torn, because the lines of pixels does not match.

Where are the 1080pScanning method is different when it is interlaced, that all 1080 lines of pixels at a rate of 60 Hz and resampled.

If the 1080i came as a 1080p TV can improve the situation? If you have a 1080p capable of a 1080i signal is what is called deinterlacing display.

With this method, input images processed and contain areas that are in motion, interactive interpolated and regions that lack of movement, combined. To describe the outcome of the sharesthe images that contained movement and were interpolated are the only parts that contain loss of detail, the static parts are not.

This is the method that a Full HD TV uses to display 1080i formats.
